Hello from Gordon Brown

Hi guys,

No jokes please about the name, I have heard them all especially as I also come from Scotland
I have been diving for about 14 years and qualified as a PADI Instructor in 2002. I have been mainly diving on a rebreather (Inspiration) for last 5 years which I find great for UWP, great buoyancy control and no bubbles to scare the little fishes.
As far as UWP is concerned, it started almost immediately after my OW course and I went off to the Red Sea in 1995 with a Sea & Sea MX10 35mm. I spent a few years trying my hand at video but did not have the time or the patience to edit the footage that I had shot.
In 2001, I converted to an Olympus 3030 in a Light & Motion Tetra housing with Sea & Sea YS60 strobe which I used on a Martin Edge course, being the first digital photographer to attend one of his courses. Moved up to an Olympus 5050 and now have a D200 in a Subal housing with twin D180 INON strobes.
In recent years most of the photography has been blue water but having retired from full time employment last year I looking to do more UK diving incl Splash-ins at Stoney and Plymouth this year. I am a member of BSoUP but find it difficult to get to the meetings especially as the last train to Doncaster does not get me home until about 2.00 am!
I have attended the EMUP meetings under Rob’s excellent leadership finding the talks very informative and am look forward to finding out more about the issues of UWP through Digigreen
