Did insurance once but never again as it's too costly.

When I did flood the housing an alarm would not have helped - you have to check it and I didn't look at the housing until it was waaay too late. Best tip is to absolutely make sure you close it properly, do a leak check before the dive and after you enter and through the dive especially if in the shallows.

Not difficult but amazing how often people don't do this and come to grief. Also try not to leave housings in rinse tanks.
