Pics from the Aquacat, Bahamas
I spent a fantastic week on board the Aquacat over Christmas. THe boat couldn't have been more accomodating for photographers, lots of space to leave cameras, their own photo lab and slide tables if you're using film and very helpful crew getting you in and out of the water, top marks indeed.
The diving was a little different, a distinct lack of fish life in many areas and some absolutely amazing soft coral life in others. They run a shark feed, I'm still not convinced it's not screwing up the natural order of the ocean but I was there and I wanted to take photos! Pics can be found on my blog Tazzie Blowing Bubbles (For some reason the photos really seem to drop in quality on this blog, probably cos it's free I guess but at least it's fast for others to look at) I even had my first win ![]() As always, any criticism greatfully recieved. I struggled a little on my macro, the jawfish I was so keen to photograph came out with huge shadows no matter where I placed my strobe - back to Martin Edge for me!

If you'll excuse the expression, you certainly seem to get about!
Especially looking at your itinerary for next year. I love the shark shots. Very impressed. What pictures won the competition and what competition was it? |

![]() ![]() Thanks for the compliments, I was pleased with my "macro" shot of the shark, the others I felt were slightly flat in some way ![]() It was my shrimp that one the comp admittedly it was only a competition for those on the boat during that week, they had wide angle, macro and topside catagories and the shrimp won the macro section and then was voted the overall winner. Not the best shot in the world but I've broken two ducks - firstly entering a comp and secondly winning it!! All 52 photos from each weekly comp go into a draw to win another trip on the Aquacat... I'm currently bribing all the crew to vote for me ![]() ![]()
