Are you only using the internal camera strobe? There are some great colours in some of the pics

I think you've done quite well given that this was pretty much a first time and given the limitations of the camera - and by that I mean, no external strobe or wide angle lenses etc.

I don't know how far you want to take the hobby Mark but your photos would greatly improve by the purchase of those two items.

Before that tho, take a look at your technique - you mentioned that these were all point and shoot and that maybe why most of the fish shots are of the rear of the fish, a number of the shots are looking down on the subject and often just a little too far away. This is what we ALL do when first taking a camera into the water. By first improving your technique you will get more impactful, colourful pictures without any financial outlay - always a good place to be.

BTW, I do like the Barracuda shots - try them in B&W as well.

Regards,

Tim

many thanks tim....to be honest im not a photographer im a diver..the camera was bought really to give me something else to do..i dont want to get to anal into photograhy....i loved it at emup last night the talk as much as the great pics.....so all divers really should go on talks like bikini atol im ex navy and served on aircraft carriers and found it very interesting.

im not trying to take the perfect picture of anything..im happy with my results for only the 2nd time in the sea with it...but i am also gratefull about advice..to maybe make me a better snapper.

not even sure i can buy a wide angle lens for that camera i know i can get a strobe but then it makes it hard to clip onto my stab jacket or wing...

cheers for the pointers tim
