That's about as much diving as you'd get on a liveaboard, and more than day-boat operations, for less money. Sounds like a bargain.

The alternative is to book the full liveaboard, then you can dive whatever you want - the same reef four times a day for the week if you like! The guides and crew will be very happy, less work all round. Oonas have a smaller boat in the north Red Sea, the Juliet. She's comfy, and the food's good. She's £725 or £799 (+£20 for Manchester flights where required), 9th 12th and 14th guests half price, max 14 divers.

Rob - if you can 'do' day-boats you'll be fine on a liveaboard.

I've worked for/with the Oonas ladies and they're good people to deal with.

I've been on the Juliet and the Eco-villages.

TBH I'd prefer 'owning' the Juliet over the eco-village - going where you like when you like has to be better than diving from the shore or a very limited range. Also, whilst the eco-village does offer unlimited diving, in practice we only managed about 16 dives over the week - much less than we would from a L/A.

Tim

So Rob, bloody nice pictures - I can clearly see the improvement in your photos over recent times. The composition especially is very good.

Whilst I would prefer to go south rather than north, I would be just as happy to book onto the Juliet providing that we were able to call the shots as it were, and particularly providing that we are able to dive unguided where conditions allow.

The question is whether we would be able to fill the boat. We would need 14 people. We would not do it from here but with the East Midlands Group and possibly Photosub we might.

Is it worth a show of hands along with a preference for L/A or Eco?

(Juliet would work out at £713 or £650 with the whole boat depending on high or low season)

Whilst I couldn't do the trip with you, I'd be happy to talk to Oonas if you like? No guarantees, but they might do a deal if you can fill the boat.

Does somebody want to be trip organiser and PM me if you'd like me to see what can be done?
