Back from the Edge
Hello all,
I'm back from a thoroughly enjoyable week aboard Typhoon doing a photoworkshop with Martin Edge. It was a brilliant trip and a real eye opener, I learnt loads and discovered a whole new way of diving. It was my first specific photographer focused trip and it really gave me the opportunity to develop under the guidance of Martin. I only had a 60mm macro with me and hadn't had much time with the camera prior to the trip so perhaps spent a lot of time getting to know the camera instead of improving my pictures. I haven't processed many of my images I will post the few i have now, I would appreciate any comments good and bad. EDIT PC being temperamental i will add pics as soon as I can |

Steve,
Looks like you were listening to him! Nice shots. Is the clown fish sharp, hard to tell at that size? Rob

Seems so from the original I got lots of out of focus ones to show you if you want to see them. lol
I am amazing myself with how could RAW is shots that i thought were to dark you can bring colour back, sadly cant do anything about the rubbish composition |

Excellent shots, the clown fish is a stunning shot.
Shooting RAW gives you almost total control over the finished image. As you say it can't help with composition, focus or hopelessly over or under exposed shots. The only problem I have with RAW is it makes it harder to discard shots, I often think that witha bit of time I can rescue a shot. With slide it was easy if it was rubbish you binned it no second chances. I am managing to be more ruthless now but it's taking time.
