Smile Advice please - how much is it worth

Good evening,

trying to work out if I can upgrade to a Canon G9 and Ikelite housing to go with my DS125 strobe.

To do this I will need to sell my Canon G5, Ikelite housing and DS sensor.

My problem is that I have no idea how much they are worth today. I appreciate its only worth what anyone will pay, but how much in todays fast moving camera market.

Kit is in reasonable condition, that is normall level of marks etc, but non on the important view port.

Served me well for a few years and even managed to win a few small competitions.

Any help anyone can give would be very gratefully received.

Gary

By DS sensor do you mean Cameras Underwater: Ikelite slave sensor and EV controller

If so, I may be interested in one.

Smile

Good point, thanks.

Its an Ikelite TTL Slave Sensor, no #4100.5 from memory.

Please note, I am simply trying to find out how much the kit is worth at the moment and don't want to waste peoples time.

Would be useful to know how much you believe a second hand one is worth.

Many thanks

Gary

CUW has one on their website for £60. One went for £50 on eBay not that long ago. I've been watching them for a while as I might be interested in having a second one to use my Ikelite DS-125s as studio strobes (especially after seeing Tim's studio flash toys earlier tonight!!)

I contacted Ikelite. They say it's torches that can't be used topside as the cooling effect of the water is taken into account of the material used for the lens. They say it is perfectly safe to use their strobes topside. Whether other manufacturers are different I can not say.
