for the last year ive been using the pto23 for my c8080 up until yesterday i was pleased with it but something had to break it was inevitable really as the build qulity for olympus housings are'nt that good as most of you who have or had one will know, well it was one of the little lugs that hold the port on came off so im not a happy bunny at the moment, i have sent an email to olympus japan and a copy to europe branches today so lets see what kind of response i get

UM,
Send it chap but I have a funny feeling that having attempted a repair yourself, might give em enough wriggle room to swerve it! BUT u never no!! Cheers, Paul.

Good luck. Attempting a fix "in the field" isn't necessarily going to invalidate the warranty.
Whoever designed the changable port needs shooting, either that or actually taken on a typical green water dive. I went to jump in the other day only to find that one of the catches had come open, how, I don't know. One of the chaps on the Cameras Underwater stall told me that the first housing to have the inter-changable port was so poor that they refused to stock it. Rob

The word fragile springs to mind along with the tripod mount etc. Having owned both Pt and Ika Housings for oly cameras, whilst the Ika is not perfect, IMHO there is no contest in terms of value/quality. Fingers crossed Paul. Send it in, see what they have to say, stay polite for as long as possible and take it from there. Cheers, Paul.
