Diving Cold Boys!

We managed 2 dives before retiring to the bar for drinks and chips - a more perfect day you couldn't imagine (especially as the viz was the best I've seen it at Stoney).

Just downloading some pics now so I'll post anything worthwhile

Tim

Just managed to go through some of the images taken with tim, nothing to shout about.

we managed to find some reasonable pike, but wouldnt play ball with the camera. They were way back in the weed,or staying well back from us.

Heres a couple to look at.

Didnt really get a good look. The first pike we saw, swam over head and into the weed, dropping down below tim as he tried to swim through.

So just ended up with loads of !!!! in the water, off the weed. And took a couple of minutes to find the devil.

The second we saw was sat on the bottom well back in the weed.

The third was hunting small fry, which was a missed shot, Tim came back round one side, me the other, small fry in the middle this third pike was taking mouth fulls of fry and spitting them out and back in. just too fare away and bloo!! shutter lag.

They were all good size, metre plus, fish. Just shame we didnt have a sunny day to go with the clear water conditions.

I had one moment that scared the bejeezus out of me - I tried to settle down to get close to one specimen that was in the weeds and obviously watching the juveniles closely. I was inching closer and closer trying to get a good angle for a face portrait when the bloody fish darted out and right at me - suffice to say that I kicked up a little dust trying to get out of it's way! I soon realised that it had shot after its prey and it was happily chewing on it as I turned around to find it.

That was one of my scarier moments UW and took a while for the heart beat to return to normal.
