meeting strangers off the internet

I just had a huge lecture from Bethi (the 17 year old) about the wisdom of putting on a rubber suit and meeting random people you got to know on the internet.

Apparently if you think you are meeting a bloke in 30s or 40s it could in fact turn out to be a 14 year old girl pretending to be interested in all the things you are just to entice you there... or something like that.

So if Cussy turns out to be 14 year old lass who only wants me to buy her some sweets then i will end up having a bad day tommorrow!

I think I am reletively safe though, apart from the risk of hyperthermia brought on by too much pike waiting.

Don't worry, Jules - Rob is, in fact, a late-twenties bloke with a fetish for women who like to dress up in rubber. Apparently he's on some sort of register and he's only allowed out under strict licence and after he's taken his medication.

The down side to the medication is that it's linked to a fascination for pike, an unusual side-effect, but not terribly uncommon around nere....

Jules is fine, even after 65 minutes in 7 degrees of water and plenty of Pike encounters.

17 years old and she's already turning into mum, tell her that and you will be free to meet all the strange people off the net you like

my apologies if my mother daughter connection is wrong it just made me chuckle most people have the shock realisation at some point they are turning into their parents

Yes the mother daughter connection is right. and the turning into your parents is hilarious. My kids constantly accuse me of "turning into Granny".

Last weekend I over heard my 18 year old say to his sister "I am not your personal Taxi driver...!" , so he is turning into his dad.

Anyway Rob did turn out to be a bloke in his thirties, reletively harmless and with a bizarre fascination for pike. We had a nice but chilly 65 minute bimble. 64 minutes of which was shallower than 6 meters. We saw about a dozen pike (or the same 6 twice)

He let me lust over his camera for a bit too.

Jules

Here is the proof of how exciting the gear lust was:

Best from the day in really bad conditions:

The dive didn't go to plan as I wanted to get some good wide-angle shots of the Pike, but the vis was too low and in processing it has been difficult not to end up with a huge halo around the fish.

Thanks for a good dive Jules, good to meet you at long last,
Rob
