Memory speed (Compact Flash)
Can anyone tell me how much effect the speed of the Compact Flash makes on camera usage? CF is advertised at quite a range of speed, but someone has warned me that certain IT equipment can be the main factor. If anyone has an Oly 7070 (or similar) and has noticed a difference I'd be interested to know.
Rob PS my new Oly 7070 arrives tomorrow, decided the C4000 had too many problems. (I was just looking for any excuse to get a better one) ![]()

Memory speed (Compact Flash)
Not sure how relevant this is to your camera
http://www.molon.de/8080/index.html#MemoryCards But basically if your camera reads/writes at say 10X there is no improvement if you buy a 40X or 80X card. So its really worth finding out the specs of how fast your camera writes/reads before buying any fast cards. Hope that helps a bit. Adam |

That does help and confirms what I thought. I'd guess that much of the guts of the 8080 is the same as the 7070, apart from that lense! I ended up buying mid-range speed CF (20x). Don't think the speed of write is a problem as it is far faster than the strobe takes to recharge. That link says faster cards are a waste of money. Maybe, but I bought a cheap USB2 CF reader for £2 in order to save battery power during those long downloads, so then quicker download is an advantage. Rob
