Got my new WA. Testpicture.
Damn, that was quick!
While looking forward to this weekend when I'll be able to try it out I just had to do a test on dry land to see how the DCL-20 would do on my PT20. As indicated I have to zoom in a bit to avoid vignetting but I'm nevertheless quite pleased with the angle achieved. My guess is I'm ending up somewhere around 95 degrees under water. Also of note is that the lens is designed to have water between the port and its body, so focus isn't quite right on dry land. Here's my garden with the standard lens ![]() And here's the garden with the WA, slightly zoomed in to avoid the black shadow of the port. ![]() K |

I was thinking about upgrading to the 7070, and wondered what sort of results an add-on lens would give, but nobody seemed to have tried it, so I'd love to see some u/w pics with this set up.
Is the vignetting as noticeable underwater? If so, could you use My Mode to automatically move the lens to the widest setting that will give you no cut-off? |

Got my new WA. Testpicture.
Check out my post in the Wide Angle forum below.
When it comes to vignetting I have set the zoom in Mymode and that way I end up without vignetting. If I want to use one of the other modes I just turn the wheel to Mymode first then over to A/P/M/S afterwards. That way the zoom setting remains as were. Kyrre |
