Spares for housing for C5050

]Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can get spares for the olympus housing for the C5050z (PT015 i think). I have dropped it and dented the red ring at the very front (bad description I know so heres a piccy.

http://www.camerasunderwater.co.uk/d...pus/pt015.html (the one in front of the lens)

Its not affecting my photo taking at the moment, but assume thats where i woud attach filters and lens if I* wanted to go that way?? Anyone know if you can get them anywhere?

Thanks
Helen

I think Olympus treat these housings as disposable, so spares might be tricky. I'd give Cameras Underwater or Luton Cameras a call - one of these should know.

If the dent isn't too big then you could try gently pulling the dented area out using a pair of pliers making sure that you don't damage the thread. Then try screwing in a filter or lens. If this doesn't work then try puting a WTB ad on any of the photo forums - you never know, somebody may come to your aid.

i don't reckon you'll have much luck. one of the guys in the club had a 5060 housing, and lost one of the wee black rubber bits that keep the camera in the right place... when he phoned cameras underwater, they said Oly only supply the entire unit..they don't do spares... so instead of forking out for a new housing for the sake of a few pence worth of rubber... he followed my advice, and used some bluetac and superglue!!!!

Helen, I did the same but I managed to bend it back. The red ring unscrews from the housing, So I took it off, gently bent it back and then used my wide angle lens to redo the thread.
