Nice new Camera

Well I thought I'd put my money where my mouth is and bought a nice new Fuji F30. Actually it's for my wife as she was complaining that she didn't have a point and shoot to use - she's had to use the D70 for taking the kiddies piccies at school events which she doesn't like.

Over all the over cameras on display I had to go for the F30 and it was only £125 as well - Lovely!

So, a housing will be had on our return which should slipi nicely into a drysuit pocket. Can't wait to use it - auto WB and a green-water filter? Perfect.

Don't encourage him!

You will have seen someone selling a Nexus housing and manual focus port on YD? He'll buy the port - no doubt about that - but he's already talking about getting the housing too, so he can take both his cameras down - one with a macro lens and the other wide angle. And of course you know who's going to be lugging around all this extra kit like his bloody sherpa, don't you?

I'm hoping that this latest purchase is a sign of (relative) common sense. I mean, when he'd previously talked about getting a compact to bolt onto his SLR rig so that he'd have something for wide angle stuff when he had his macro lens fitted - well, I thought that was just daft! But compared with carrying around two housed and rigged SLR's it's certainly the lesser of two stupidities!

And I'm already carrying his computer onto the planes because his bags are weighed full with cameras - before too long I won't have room for even my own dive kit!

You're all bloody mad!

What he really needs is a rebreather, so he doesn't scare the fishies, and then he might as well add a video camera since he's going to be down there so long.

Oh, and what about black and white? Surely a medium so loaded with artistic potential deserves a dedicated rig?

And whilst I'm here, what on earth do the opinions of the kit-sherpa have to do with it? You should be thankful the great man deigns to discuss his plans with you! And as for permitting you to carry his computer, well, the honour is entirely yours! (Although, it has to be pointed out, and based on information gleaned from another thread, he might well be grateful you have his computer, he seems to prefer to dive without it).

Did Bailey's assistants expect a share of the limelight? Did Patrick Lichfield's make-up dogsbody expect their name in lights? I think not. Next thing you'll be expecting to dive as well. No, you stick to moving the heavy stuff around and acting as safety surface cover like a good boy.

The air-head would be dead within a week (and he knows it!).

As for the rest of it - you're as bad as he is. BLOODY PHOTOGRAPHERS!
