F10 Problem

Hi guys, sorry if this goes on a bit but bear with me.

I've been away diving off Plymouth this weeked, won't bore you with details, it's not a trip report!

Took loads of photo's with my F10 on 1st two days and transferred them to my GIGA 1 each night without problem. On day three again took loads of photos on dive one, viewed them during SI, took loads again dive two! On the boat heading back to shore I looked at a few and put the camera, still in housing, in my bag. Something happened on the boat that i thought would make a good photo but the camera was "dead." The lens was open but the camera was totally powerless. I couldn't take photo's, view them or anything. It wasn't till i got home and realised that the "indicator" light was on, glowing yellow. I thought it might have been the battery was flat but when i plugged power cord in nothing changed. I tried the old trick of removing the battery for a few seconds, replaced it and the camera worked perfectly?

The battery was charged each night and the camera was never removed from the housing until it was rinsed and completely dried out.

Any body have any Idea what happened, i'm going to Cyprus in 4 weeks and would hate the same to happen again whilst underwater!

Hi Paul

I was in Plymouth on Sunday with my F10. I've never had this occur with mine, in fact I treat mine really badly and it still works! Which 'indicator light' was on? The one at the back that flashes when it's writing to the card/charging the flash. If so it's either a write error or a power problem.

I did have a strange episode with my card when I deleted a few photo's off of it and then tried using it again, once I had filled up the space the camera wouldn't do anything, it basically crashed. A change of card did it for me, I had to re-format the old card.

Hi Mark

Small world isn't it, we were on the JEL and Cannonball Alley on Sunday!

Anyway back to the F10, yes it was the light on the back, i don't know how long it was on, if it was on the boat i didn't notice as it was a bright day i didn't notice it for some 5 - 6 hours. Anyway all appears well now, i've just taken the last photo's off the card, who knows i might even put a few in the gallery!!!
