fuji f47fd any info?
Hi,
As my old nikon has now bitten the dust due to a flooding incident on sunday i am looking for a new camera! I am aware that the f30/31 has been raved about for a while but cant find any at the moment. Anyone got any opinions on the f47? also i have wide angle lens from sea and sea which i used with an adapter on the nikon, will they fit on a fuji case? thanks duff |

So was the F50 and I don't think much of the F100 either, but I do lurve the F30/31. The good news? They're pretty well due on the used market anytime now for those savvy enough. ![]()

I think the F47 and F50 are still current in the UK. The F47 is a 9mp version of the 8mp F40 made exclusively for Currys there's also an F45 which is a blue case version made for Argos. reviews I've found rate the f40 as better than the F47 or F50 because it's got less mp and cramming more onto the same size sensor degrades the quality. I think the F30 was probably better than the F40 for the same reason. I've just bought an F40 from Amazon for £95 for surface only use. So far it appears fine to me but not really had a chance to fully test it out yet.

I'd agree with Ken. I bought an F45 for work at a cracking price and love it (it has the same sort of "bring the results home no matter what" character that distinguishes the F30/F31. Similar performance (though not scientifically) to my F30. I've seen reviews that suggest (as you'd expect) that the F30 low light performance is better. But I'd be happy with an F40/45. The F47 is likely to be a small backwards step

We all suffer from gear lust, some more than others, and I personally have made a lot of mistakes buying kit that in all honesty wasn't needed. Rob PS if you've lost faith in your housing then thats a different story

I've read somewhere that the F30/31 have manual control. The F40 is auto only. It has a manual setting but that just allows you set things like the ISO not the shutter or apperture. Doesn't bother me for what I want it for but I think I'd want the control underwater.
