Triggerfish

Hi,

I took some pictures of these friendly triggerfish, shore diving off chesil beach, these are the best two I got, have cropped them and also photoshopped a bit, just to take out a bit of backscatter.

What do you think? Which do you prefer? Any constructive criticism really!

Thanks,

Carly

I prefer the shot on the green background, they are both good shots well lit.

I'd try applying a little unsharp mask in photoshop just to crisp them up a bit.

Carly,
Nice shots, something I haven't seen in the UK.

As for preference, I prefer the black background, but the green one is more of a dynamic diagonal in the frame. You say you've cropped the image, so any scope to make the black background one more diagonal? In both you've got the eye sharp, but I personally find it noticeable that the mouth isn't sharp.

HTH,
Rob

I prefer the first - it seems to show more of the character of the fish for me.
