Forums are great because they can span geographical boundaries with ease. Without missing anyone, we have had lots of discussion from all over the world; Canada, US, Sweden, Norway, New Zealand, Australia to name but a few. Get togethers are a good idea, but if they alienate those that can not make it then thats not a good thing. Digigreen is not British, which is great as us UK lot can easily think our problems are unique, but they aren't. There is, however, nothing stopping those that can get together locally doing so; and this is why I set up EMUP. I think what we are suffering from is one hell of a dreadful summer with the weather and algal bloom being particularly bad. This doesn't seem to be restricted to us in northern Europe. Rob

Tim, like everyone else I think it would be awful if DG were to come to an end it is so unique. When I had a problem accessing it, it made me realise how much I missed it! Its the third thing I look at when i get on the computer email, YD then DG! Obvioulsy you cannot continue to finance it yourself and I am sure no one is really going to object to any sort of advertising that has to come in order to keep it afloat.

Further to my original post. Advertising wouldn't bother me either.
Also making the site more basic wouldn't be a problem either. I'm sure most of us are able to host images on photobucket etc and link to them into the forum. Members galleries are nice but I've found that very little comments are passed unless pics are posted on the forum.

As someone who's slowly getting to grips with Photography and is looking at making the bank manager even more grumpy with a dive into the DSLR market in the next month (Still stuck on the Canon vs Nikon vs Oly argument in my head... but don't let me start another discussion on this!!), this site has been really helpful from an advice point of view. I'd love to be at the stage where I can dole out advice to others (maybe in a few years time), but for the moment spend most of the time reading everyone else's posts... happy for the site to continue in whatever state you want it - I find it invaluable (and a bit more focused than YD - which can get confusing at times!)

Hi all - not been around much this year I'm afraid, but, if it helps at all, the first dive website I checked was Digigreen, though I've only juts got around to postin after a few days.
I think this is a good resource, and it'd be a shame to see it go. Maybe the low post rate is a seasonal thing? |

No worries with me about adverts...
Give me a digigreen T-shirt and I'll try and wear it for any interviews I do in the future...Although I have a small list at the mo... Dive safe Dean(keep digigreen afloat or submerged)B |
