Macro pics with new camera.







These were taken with my Fuji F31fd, amazing little camera much handier than the Olympus 7070. The pics were taken using the cameras normal flash.

Using the torch (like I used to) left the other pics very burnt out.

Very good Dave. And these were with the camera's own flash? The lighting is pretty damned even across the frame - it's done a very god job there.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the reply. Yes cameras own flash.

If I had a strobe would it have made the pics any better ?

How is the trimix going ? Any plans on coming over to Malin for a few dives ?

In terms of eveness of lighting, I don't think that an external flash would really help much more. You would get a little less backscatter but I think the backscatter you have is more due to the amount of crud in the water than anything else.

As for the Trimix stuff, TBH, I haven't once made use of it. I seem to be doing more >20m stuff now than I ever did since qualifying - thats just the nature of the trips I'm doing I guess.

Nice shots, it's hard to see what improvement an external strobe would have made.
