Ramsgarth out of Littlehampton

After more disappointing results I took some advice and fiddled around with both my housing and my camera on land last week and managed to sort out my housing so I can get the F stop selector working which I was really excited about!

We were diving on the Ramsgarth on Saturday and even though I was part of a buddy three Id asked my buddies if they'd mind me shooting off a couple of pics to see whether i had indeed solved the problem.

As luck would have it we descended onto a beautiful blennie so I fored off a couple of shots which I am quite happy with.

I unfortunately didn't have chance to "dig in" and play around with exposures and strobe positioning and they did come out a little under exposed so I had a quick fiddle in Photoshop to sort that.

Any advice gratefully recieved

Not bad at all are they?

I really like the third because of the contact and the position you have on the face. The eye is bang on in the right place in the frame and you can't help but be drawn to it. The others are good to but the third has that extra something.

Nice one.

Tim

Tazzie,
Fantastic photos. The sharpness in the "thing" that comes out the tompots head is great. Compared with your posted Swanage photos these are in a different class. I've still not got a photo of a Tompot, but was recently lucky enough to see a Yarell's Blennie (very similar but a lot less colourful).
Rob
PS I agree with Tim, the third photo is definitely the best because of the limited depth of field and the way the eye is so prominent.

Thanks chaps

I can't tell you how relieved I am, I was starting to think that maybe I'd overestimated my abilities and was considering returning to a compact!! Am so chuffed the tompots were sitting there, not only did I sort the camera but got my favourite fish too!

I cna't wait til next weekend and the opportunity to do a proper camera dive and see what I can come up with - LOL kiss of death, 50p says the weather is rubbish now!!
