I would be more than happy with those shots rob, you`re really getting to grips with the cameras setup.
And its nice to see the change from images posted in the past when you started of with the nikon.

you can see there getting sharper, cleaner(less back scatter) less noise and sharper focus.

Just an idea ,do you use a diffuser ?, you could try using a diffuser on the strobe you feel is causing the problem, and leaving one with out? .
And see what difference reducing the light output does.

Good point. Both strobes have their diffuser on. I was thinking that maybe when in portrait one strobe should be higher in the water than the lens and the other should be at the same height - perpendicular to the housing (if you get what I mean). Then the strobe that currently is lower than the camera isn't too close to an object as I tend to shoot looking slightly upwards.
