Only Stoney Cove Photos

I've had a couple of trips to Stoney Cove in the last month, but only just got around to processing the shots.

Dive 1:
This was mid-March when Sam Bean came to talk at EMUP. I had the 105 on, which I learned isn't great in Stoney Cove. For some odd reason I shot Jpeg on this dive. Here is the best of that day:

(the watermarking program has made the last one look over exposed)

Dive 2:
Went today and wanted to practice some wide angle stuff, especially as Mark wanted to go to 20m. The vis was absolutely dreadful and got lots of shots with bad back scatter. Second dive we went Pike hunting, as always, as I wanted a few wide-angles to add to the considerable collection. The Pike weren't playing ball today and were off as soon as they saw us (which at times was long before we saw them!). Best of the bunch:

If the vis doesn't improve, the Splash-in is going to be very interesting!

Love the pike macros, especialy the eye.
The viz is poor at the minute due to an inversion, hopefully should be clear by the 12th.
Here are some more recent Stoney shots all wide and natural light:

There was no chance of wide angle like that yesterday! Nice shots, like the framing in last one, where is that?

The Pike eye was lucky. There was a large female just sat on the bottom on the 6m shelf not far from the cockpit. I had the 105 on so managed to get really close (although this is a slight crop). In the big image you can even see scratches on the eye!

I've followed Rob's instructions so hopefully this should work. They are all 105 shots apart from the last one which was where I was trying to take perch shots with a 15mm.

Daniel,

The only comment I would make is get lower, so you are on the floor if eed be and shot up into the subject. Makes the fish (or diver) look so much better.

Rob:
The framed shot is taken from under the barge at 20ish metres, opposite the Cessna.

Didn't realise you could get under it. Is the far side open again yet?

Final think I have taken a small step forward with my camera set-up.

Having dived with Rob yesterday, before the emup meeting.

I changed the camera settings, and set the camera to +2 exposure compensation. With the LCD screen brightness reduced.
Also did couple of other little bits.

Now here is the step back my composition suck!!

So here is a couple, just auto levels used.

And for this image i tried to get my dive buddy/subject to help recreate the vis from the stoney splash-in
