It looks like Maria and I are doing Swanage on Sunday. Probably just the pier and maybe a boat trip. There is an open invitation if anyone wants to join us.

I have never dived the peir at swanage are tide times a big concern there. I was thinking of going to babbacombe on the 17th but the tide times aren't looking great

You can dive the pier at any state of the tide. Just turn up and drop in whenever you fancy. Thats the beauty. The only difference if how far you need to wade before you submerge. If you then fancy taking a boat out in the afternoon there are often spaces going.

I was not aware that you had to dive Babbacombe on slack. I don't remember ever considering this when I've been there.

Selsey pier though does definitely need to be done on slack or it will run!

To be fair on the odd occasion coming up to springs it's not always possible to dive the Pier at any state of the tide, I wouldn't say it runs but it's enough to be a pain...

Change of plans for me Daniel, no longer going on saturday as I've been stood up, what time are you and Maria heading down on Sunday?

I think this is probably because its deepest at this time. When the tide is out it can be a little difficult to maintain good bouyancy as it is so shallow. In addition to this there are more slippery stones to get over with expensive camera equipment!
