Frustrated in the UK!

I spent the weekend Oop North this weekend and dived Knife Reef off the Farnes and Eyemouth... The viz was c5m in both dive sites but I just didn't get the results I was hoping for after my last few trips away... Diving and photographing when in a drysuit, wearing gloves and being rather chilly (water temp was 7 deg - brrrrr! ) was something I've fallen out of practise of and boy did it show!

Anyone want to come diving on the south coast with me? Will put you up in return for a dive with a like minded buddy!! Viz not guaranteed though

Nice shots Tazzie. We didn't see any prawn in St Abbs and only 1 Nudi (which wasn't being photogenic).

Love the prawn shots. Having looked through your recent blue water photos I can see similarities. ME has definitely impacted upon you!

Thanks Rob, I know I stuck to a couple of the rules but to be honest it was like taking a big step back taking neither the time, nor it seemed at times, having the skill to take more than a couple of shots of each subject

I guess given the number of pics I actually took (about 20) to get the few results I did I should be happy but just feel frustrated!

Roll on Plymouth!!

I really wanted to visit St Abbs but was told the entry and exit aren't that easy, especially carrying a rig - is that right?

It's only £12 a dive, so I've never shore dived it. Unless I was snorkelling the rock pools, I wouldn't walk my camera in there.

Nice shots Tazzie.

Rob and I are off to Eyemouth at the beginning of next month so hopefully I'll get some decent shots then. It certainly seems to be a long while out of the water. I did talk to talk Maria into doing Swanage pier at the weekend but I don't think she could face the bank holiday traffic.

Always up for something commutable if your stuck for a buddy although my buddying skills are...em...less than observant

Speaking as a newbie those pics lookpretty good to me. I strongly that one of the things thats slows my photography progressing is a lack of photographer buddies. Some members of my club go as far as to say "they ******* hate diving with photographers" But i ignore them now and at the very least i take my camera with me now on every dive, just to be used to it being there.

Tazzie having not met you I'm not about to go inviting myself to be your buddy but in the future maybe it would be great to dive with a like minded buddy.

Love the prawn/shrimp(?) ones. They're eyes are amazing! I never seem to see them on dives, probably not observant enough!

Eyemouth I loved, really nice entry stacks to see, we were just travelling at a rate of knots! I'm happy to have an unobservant buddy along as long as they want to pootle / stay in one area, I'm not the best either when with my camera!

Ok we might have the makings of a small get together coming on... I totally agree with you about the buddy situation holding you back - we need to get soemthing sorted I think!!

I've just had a thought, I am organising a club dive for the Southampton Divers on June 7th.

We are travelling out of Littlehampton on Our Joy and are planning to do one wreck and a slow drift - if any of you guys want to bring your cameras down and plop in you are more than welcome? Interest from the club seems to be pretty limited despite the fantastic day we had on her last year. £40 for 2 dives, you'll need 2 tanks... Let me know and I'll get your names down.

I certainly would do but I will still be travelling home from Eyemouth / St Abbs. We are diving Monday to Thursday and then stopping for Friday at the Farnes.
