When we were looking through the shots post dive Rob's contained a great deal more red than mine. Originally I thought it was the monitor settings on my laptop but when I got back the colours were same on the PC which is colour calibrated.

I could be that I don't set the WB (left on auto) and rely on post processing. I am also not wondering how much of the difference is down to the colour output of the strobe. Rob's Ike's have a temp of 4800K whereas mine are 5400K. As I understand it, the higher the temp the bluer. The lower the temp the redder.

I don't set WB either and do it all in post-processing, so you're probably right in that it's down to strobe temperatures.

This trip turned me into a bit of a birdwatching convert. On the way home, Daniel, Maria and myself stopped off at the Farnes for a bird watching trip out around the islands. I've only just got arround to sorting the 500+ photos I took that day. Here are my favs, feedback welcome:

Enjoyed the day and learnt quite a lot. Weather wasn't on our side, but pleased with the results. Thanks to Daniel for lending me the 70-300 for the 6th shot.
Rob

I love the third from last puffin, beautiful colouring and love the bokeh (?) background, lovely shot!

I do like the 6th and 8th. I;ll out a couple of mine up tomorrow.

Incidentally, it was actually a 100-300 with a 1.4 teleconverter rather than a 70-300mm.
