Introducing Me
I've just copied and pasted from the other place!
Well as the site initiator I guess I should start here. I'm an avid diver to begin with and through diving have rediscovered an older passion for photography. For the last couple of year I've been diving with an Olympus c5050 housing in an Olympus PT-15 and I've been adding bits and pieces to it since. The set-up now includes an Inon WAL and Inon 22Os strobes mounted on ULCS arms. The strobe is connected to a TTL converter invented by a clever guy called Matthias Heinrichs. This set-up has served me well and I have some pictures that I am very happy with although definitely not up to the standard of some other images I've seen taken with similar set-ups. Recently I've upgraded to a Nexus housing for my D70 and have yet to get it into the water for a real test-drive - but I can't wait to do so. As I'm based in Kilkenny in Ireland most of my diving will now be around the Irish coast (weather permitting) and that was really the reason for setting up this site. Sites such as Digital Diver and Wetpixel are superb and a source of great information. However, I felt that there was no site directly dealing with diving and photography in cold, green water with low viz which is the bulk of my diving and the majority of divers in Northern Europe and those in simlar climes. So there was a gap in the UWphoto forum 'market' but the question is, "Is there a 'market' in the gap?" Only time will tell. I say 'market' beacuse of course this is a non-commercial site. As for the type of photography, I tend to take pictures of anything at this stage of development - I may swing towards Macro or WA, wrecks or nudi's or whatever in the future but well, we shall we see.

Introducing Me
OK Tim, I'm in!
Don't have much time now, just wanted to mention that this weekend I took part in a UW-workshop with Espen Rekdal, renowned UW-photographer in Norway, and probably one of the best in the world! He had a lot to teach us, so hopefully my pictures will improve... I have recieved my Sea&Sea strobe from www.uwdigitalcamera.com in Japan, and will be ordering another ASAP. I wish you luck with the new site, and I'll be back soon ![]()

Introducing Me
Hey Chris,
Welcome again! Hey, that workshop sounds great. Can you do a write up? I hope to do a one-day workshop with Martin Edge in Aug. I'm looking forward to doing it. Cheers, Tim

Introducing Me
Yeah, I'll try to put together a couple of pages during this week. I'm away on business in Germany, so I have some time on my hands in the evenings. Ther's gonna be no diving, though... *grr*
