Cool Hello Digigreen

Having met Tim last week in the Red Sea my wife and I thought we would take a look at the site to see what we can learn.

Diving is a big part of what we do, in the last 12 months we have dived Scapa, the Brothers, the Sound of Mull, Skye, Galapagos, Northern Red Sea, plus sundry wrecks on East coast of Scotland. Along the way we have captured some images which we will share - and hopefully with your help learn from.

For the coming year we have plans so far to dive Cocos, Norway, and Scapa.

Jenny has a Sea and Sea DX 8000 G compact, I have a Nikon D70 in Sea and Sea housing with a choice of 18-70, 10.5 and 105 mm lenses.

Jenny is adament that having acquired all this kit we have to acquire some skill!

So, hi everyone.

Gawaine and Jenny

Hi and welcome to digigreen.

That is a very impressive list of diving destinations in 1 year! I am very jealous! I look forward to seeing more of your pics.

Gawaine,
Having read Alex Mustard's bit in UwP abouth mid range zooms lenses, which tend to get overlooked underwater, how do you find using the 18-70?
Rob
PS Welcome

I have tried to put some photos in the gallery but appear to have a "fatal error". Hopefully that will sort itself out and I will try again.

Jane - the two photo thumbnails that I put in the original message are in fact the same place. The first is Jenny's photo of me taking the second photo. It is from the portside bow of the Thesis in the Sound of Mull.

PS Welcome

Rob, one of the things that I need to understand is why the 18-70 is so difficult to use. I have had some good results with it, but it is always a struggle. My other lenses are much easier to use.

In what where do you find it a struggle? And what diopters are you using?
