Hello

Hello
Been diving for about four years, now on my second underwater setup. Olympus sp350 with a strobe and I've just bought a wide angle lens. I've got the feeling I'm standing at the top of a very steep and very slippery slope.
Looking forward to picking some brains, snagging some tips and hopefully I will be able to keep away from the DSLR money pit section.
I dive pretty much exclusively in the UK (south coast) so green is definitely my colour.
Thanks for a really useful site.
Jimbob.

Hello Jimbob and welcome to Digigreen.

I think it's fair to say that you are indeed standing on the edge of precipice into which you can very well throw all you spare money into once you get the bug.

I guess living on the south coast means that you are diving regularly? That's something I dream of - regular diving in the Briney, something that isa bit difficult when you live near Leicester!

Cheers,

Tim

Welcome - and if it's of any use, take a look at my website where I've a page devoted to the slr vs compact debate. You could use the info to sway your buying decision either way, dependant on who's paying the money, probably!

More important, let's see some pics

Thanks guys.
Just taken the new wide angle lens for it's first outing in Wraysbury. Numb fumbly fingers didn't help but it was an interesting learning experience.
Will have to post the results for some hints and tips, so far all my pictures have been small things blasted in a strobe, Photographing big, moving things is a new departure.
I am very lucky being on the south coast. Although last year was a bit of a shocker weatherwise. Will post some meagre offerings later and will try very hard not to look at your website Mike. Must not look, must not look.....
