Hello all

Well this is actually my first visit to these forums so not really sure what to expect but followed a link posted on YD to here with a bit of a brief on what digigreen is about. I just bought myself my first digital camera (canon ixus 950) and am picking up a underwater housing for it on Tuesday, before heading out to the Farnes at the start of next month. Really I am not a skilled photographer I dont know what half the settings are for but I do like shiny things. That and in the 3 years or so I have been diving the amount of times I have wished I had a camera to snap a picture or ten has grown and grown. So taking the plunge.
Diving wise I am a BSAC Sports Diver with TDI nitrox, currently diving singles but looking to twin up this year. Have logged about 80 dives mostly in the UK, inland sites, Angelesy and Frane Islands. Did my first Red Sea week last October and can't wait to go back, just this time with my camera!

Dragged on didnt I?

Hi PapaBear and welcome to the site,

Thanks for the intro - it gives us a real sense of where you are with the photography.

Sounds to me like you're about to be biten by the bug which is great, If you have any questions on using your camera then ask away and we will do what can to help.

Tim

Thanks for the welcome guys I am really looking forward to getting stuck into some underwater photography. I am picking up my underwater case tomorrow and have been playing with the camera at Duxford IWM today to get a feel for it. I have to admit to having bought the digital photography for dummies book at the weekend. Ashamed to say finding it enjoyable to read and learning about exposure and iso times to try get brighter pictures without using the flash. Something I figure that may come in handy in the green.
