    MES bvba Shop

It by this belgium company. The information as far as I can see is only in Dutch, but since Alex probably doesnt speak that, I suppose everything is in English. Quick translation of the highlights:

6-10 august (friday from around 5 PM) on the Panda liveaboard in my homewater of Zealand. 15 people max.

The schedule of Alex' talks is in English : duik means dive... nachtduik means night dive : Q&A met bespreking beelden means Q&A and talking about your images.

It is full board, only alcohol is extra (with that schedule there is probably not needed much...) The requirements do say that you need a dslr however. It is 360 + 15 (if you sign up as a passion member), otherwise 450. You can sign up with an email to MES info@ms-bvba.be with your details including certification and camera equipment. I am sure they will understand english.

Friday: 1800 Dutch language lecture by Geert Nies

Sounds like it will be good but I don't think I'll be back from Singapore/Malaysia by then.!

To drag this totally off topic:
I have never been to Holland before, but the diving conditions are pretty similar to the UK. My aim on the workshop is to really get people working with their standard lighting. It is not really about getting exposures right or avoiding backscatter, but about understanding how to achieve a real quality of light on your subjects.

Part of that is understanding what you are after for a particular type of shot and then knowing how to achieve it. The lectures cover both green water and blue water techniques - because understanding the limitations of visibility makes your lighting better in both low viz and high viz environments.

They also cover more creative techniques - but on the workshops I tend to leave these more towards the end, because otherwise people get distracted by the fun stuff and don't really polish the basics.

The Visions talk is a section of the talks that make up my controlling light workshops. To give you an idea the Visions talk is about 130 slides, while the 3-4 talks from workshop have about 300-400 slides in total. Although they constantly change as new material is added and they are tailored for the destinations (and as I learn more).

Anyway, I had better go and dive (in El Hierro at the moment).

    Alex

p.s. My talks and advice and image reviews etc etc will be in English.
