Getting close

Its always hard to show just how close you are to something, especially Nudibranchs, in reality they could be any size. So I thought I'd get close to a dead mans finger, then get some opinions about how much closer I could get with what sort of lens, I am still waiting to order the Ikelite housing with 67mm adaptor even though I have a WAL I purchased from Tim.

So here it is, I have cropped it, but not resized the image.

So if I wanted to get closer, what lens should I be looking at?

Re: Getting close

That looks pretty damn close to me.

A close up lens may allow you to get a similar shot from further away and may allow you to get an even closer shot but I'm not sure.

I ended up with an Epoque DML-2 macro lens. I have played a couple of times with it with no better results. It does appear that using the lens, I have to be in the exact focal position of the lens, the camera cannot compensate. All of my macro shots with the lens are not as good or as close as this.
The problem I have is that with the Ikelite housing I cannot get as close to the subject as I could with the Fuji housing (this is due to the adaptor on the front of the housing for my 67mm lenses, I don't want to be taking it off underwater), so I cannot reproduce this with the Ikelite housing, I was hoping the macro lens would do it for me . I'm going to play a few more time and see what happens.

Any suggestions?
