    Lens

I have just obtained a Canon 60mm macro and will try it tomorrow to see how it rates against my Sigma 50mm. It looks as tho I can use a shorter port on my housing so it should be less obtrusive. Anyone know any other advantages it may have. Sometimes I use diopters and I'm hoping that with the lens back a bit farther from the subject I'll be able to light it better.

I just bought a Nikon 60mm, so I'll also be comparing it with the Sigma 50mm.

As you've found, it's a shorter lens. My topside tests haven't found much difference. What I'm hoping is it's better at focusing in low light; but then am i being stupid? Is it the camera that makes it poor in very low light?

Have you tried a focus light?

I was looking at the fantasea nano at the dive show. Seem's okay for £20.

My kit: Nikon D80, Tokina 10-17mm, Nikkor 18-70mm, Sea and Sea DX80 with Inon 45deg viewfinder, YS110 and YS27.

Once it's all mounted on arms etc, it becomes £100; no easy mounting on an Ikelite. Yes, I know it would be £100 well spent, but I'm tight!!! Gear lust got the better of me and as everyone else seemed to have the Nikon 60 I felt I had to.....

I have focus lights on the strobes, but don't really want them pointing at the subject.

That's why I was looking at the Nano...

With the Sea and Sea housing there's a hot shot fixing point above the port.

I picked up an adapter at the show for £10...

Does the Fantasea Nano switch off when it detects pre-flash (like the Fisheye one), or is it just an always on torch?

I've been using the Fantasea focussing light, it saves my batteries in the strobes if nothing else. I'm hoping it will focuss quicker, having the ability to overide the auto focuss will be a boon tho, I'll know in an hour or so when I hit our local marine reserve.
