Monthly Challenge - April 06

I've just been reminded that I've haven't set this yet - so apologies for my tardiness.

So, its April and the begining, for many people, of a whole new diving season - weather permitting. I dunno about the rest of you but I think we might get some great diving weather this year.

So, this months theme which has been suggested to me by Bubblemaker (many thanks) is "Rare Finds". A great open theme so let's see em folks.

April is not going to be a good month for me as I'm finishing my Trimix course so unlikely to be toting a camera.

Yippe I might even be able to enter something in this as I do my first dives for this year at the end of the month! First stuff with photography in the uk as well so I think its gonna be a steep learning curve!

right.. well.. i thought as i sugested iti'd better post something!!!

now these are slightly tenuous but bear with me!!

This was taken in Scapa Flow on the Endeavour. obviously there is a topshell.. not very rare.. but next to it there is a phylum pycnogonida, which is a tiny wee sea spider...it's the wee red stick thing!




and eh.. that's about it for now.. i shall work at finding something rare and exciting during the rest of the month!!

I assume its that spindly thing to the right of the shell? I never would have seen that underwater! I came to the conclusion a long time ago I miss a hell of a lot of stuff.

genius!! we have a dive site near (ish) Glasgow where you can find rare things like lawnmowers, fireplaces, washing machines and such..it's great.. the last time we were there we found a Metro.

I dont know if this is a rare find...It looks like these sea urchins were spawning...Hey maybe this is common but I aint seen it b4 Looked pretty cool..
This was my first time back in cold water this year....now I dont want to get out!!
