Monthly Challange - March 07

Well it seems that I have been awfully lax and completely missed the challenge for Feb and we are already well into March.

Next month I'll do better.

So, this month, in respect to the Irish Rugby team that almost contrived to lose the triple crown today the theme of this month is:

Green, White and Orange

All, or any combination of the above colours will be fine.

Do I see pictures of Dead Man's Fingers with a green background? Maybe some Orange Anemones?

Anyway, enjoy the diving and lets see some interesting interpretations.

Cheers,

Tim

We have had a quite warm winter here in Finland,
so the ice diving is not so easy as usual.
The ice cover in the sea is actually now so thin,
that it sunk under the water under the weight of the divers...

The white is ice and light, the green is water
and sure, there is some orange too...

This is from our trip up to Mull last weekend - nothing like as good as I'd hoped it would be due to the issues I've described elsewhere but c'est la vie I suppose

Sure is. Lovely wreck - but best visited at slack with a functioning wing / BCD!

Tim - cracker of a shot nevertheless!

It does point up another difficulty with green water photography, however, the amount of ambient light down there. The pic is a bit dark in the background (Centre of shot, arguably - and just my opinion!) but deffo overbright at the outer edges of the foreground where the strobes lit the plating. I know you could knock the strobe power down, but if the surrounding water is dark there's a limit to how little strobe output you can get and also a limit to how wide the lens will go and how slow a shutter speed you can hold.
