Funnily enough I was thinking of asking if anyone fancied joining me at Swanage one day over the weekend. I will have to check whether Saturday or Sunday is best. Would you fancy Saturday if I cannot make Sunday?

It is OK because Sunday is actually the best day anyway. Maria and I will both be down there.
If you want to PM me your number I'll give you a call when I get down there. Daniel |

Not the most successful of days. I left at 5 to get a space on the pier. I could have left at 10 and still got a space. 5 hours on the road and I spent 20 minutes in the water, Maria spent 30, I think Whacky clocked up 10. Viz was so bad that you could make your fingers disappear by stretching out your arm. Whacky didn't get much chance to practise with the camera. And I forgot to give him the silica. Maria broke a mask and I left one on the step only for it to be washed away.
At least I got the weight check done for next week. Lets hope the viz is better or the splash in winner could be any shot in which you can see something! Daniel |

It was very good thanks and I feel like I got a lot from the day. I felt like a bit of a fraud before I went as I had only just got the camera, but Martin quickly set my mind at ease. I may even book another day with him once I have got to grips with the camera some more.
Although he has suggested I get a wide angle lens the guy is going to bankrupt me. I will have to see if I can borrow something though as I am all spent out. |

Sounds good
The Tokina 10 17 (which is one of the most popular underwater wide angles) can be found for reasonable prices if you look about. But there's no rush, get used to your macro and then experiement with something else ![]()
