White Balance with latest ACR

Hi
I was wondering if there was an easy way of setting the white balance in the latest ACR whenb theres no clear white are grey in the picture. I've recenlty been to the Maldives and have some really good photo's ad some not so good ones that would benefit greatly from this treatment. Any help would be great.

Thanks

well, did you take other pictures in similar lighting: It doesn seem that ACR has a facility to selectively copy settings from one image to another. If you're not using presets but custom / click white balance, there's no alternative but to write the Kelvin and Hue setting down and manually insert them.

PS Apparantly: us native non-english speakers have difficulty to grasp the pronounciation subtleties of Hue, Hugh, Hughesy or even You....

On the latest ACR there is a small symbol somthing like shown below

._
._
._

with an arrow on the line that says basic, just above the white balance setting.

Click the arrow and you get a number of options that could be useful.

Previous conversion allows you automatically apply the same settings as the last image you processed.

Save settings allows you to save a range of settings from the current image to a file, load settings then lets you load and apply these settings to other images.

If you don't have an image that you can correct and use as a template the auto white balance settings can sometimes do a very good job, at other times it's hopeless. You can obviously use the temperature and tint sliders and attempt to correct by eye.
