OK, I'm Intrigued - where was this?

I've never seen a ray in UK waters - something that I find very disapointing. I've love to see one .....or two

These taken with the 5060 Simon?

Me and me mate Lisa saw a couple of rays when we were diving out from Porthkerris a couple months back. It was on the last dive of the weekend and we opted to dive the River Estuary and try our hand at scalloping. The rays were very well camouflaged and were only spotted as we were focussed on the sand looking for the scallops and was pure luck their outlines in the sand were spotted.

This is probably one of the best places to see thornbacks and also the falmouth estuary. Yazz is referring to the Helford river (thx M ) which we dived on the Porthkerris gig. But they are nothing like the size of the rays in the video. I saw some that size in New Zealand a few years ago I think the largest was about 4 foot across. Quite awesome as they seem to fly through the water like mantas.
