Im curious about ikelite and nimars housings. Are they any good? I had a chat with the seller in the local diving shop (they sell sea&sea) and he thaught ikelite was no good. Offcourse its no good compared to sea&sea, but will my camera get wet? Have anyone bad experiences from ikelite or nimar?

Ikelite make very good housings and have an excellent reputation for customer service. They're a bit bulkier than the latest Sea & Sea housings but they do the same job at much lower cost. Also as far as I know Ikelite are the only housing that gives digital TTL as standard (if you also use Ikelite strobes).

Your camera will only get wet if you misuse the housing or fail to seal it properly. This goes for all the other manufacturers as well.

Ikelite

I looked hard at Ikelite before buying an aluminium alloy housing.

I've seen Ikelite housings and strobes taken to 70m (well, I saw them underneath me, actually: I'm not daft enough to go that deep on air), and all the Ikelite owners I know are pretty happy.

The reason I didn't buy one is the controls: I found them very difficult to reach.

Ikelite housings are big and heavy, paradoxically. The one problem I have seen is in the dome port attachment which can both work loose and jam.
