Using + Diopter filters?

Simon,
I've got one of the Woody's diopters ATJ is talking about, but much bigger than you want. If you like I can lend it to you and you can mess around in the bath to see what it does for you. I like it as it means you can easily put it on when needed and not bother with it for the rest of the dive. I'll try and remember it Wednesday and you can give me it back in Plymouth?

Hopefully gordan was going to bring the macro port for the tetra housing he had and see if it fits, but this can only be fitted before getting wet. So would limit the cameras variability.

TBH with you mate, when you are using the diopter and getting that close it's very very difficult to light the subject. So I've not used it that much at all. I carry it though just in case as it does help with the 105 when you see Nudibranch.

Recently I tried the lens that came with my 400D, a 18 - 55mm behind the 8" dome. I
stacked diopters up to +5 and these were some of the results, it seems that a little sharpness was lost.
