Urgent Help Required: Do You Know Someone With a Hugyfot D200 Housing?

After the dive on Friday on the M2 I put my D200 housing into the bath to soak and get the salt crystals off. I have left it here submerged and last night when I was sorting stuff out, I went to take it out.

I noticed there was a buzzing noise, the same sort of noise from a charging strobe, but neither strobe was on. As I put the housing down I noticed a sloshing noise and feared the worse. I openend the housing up and realised that I hadn't done the housing screws up tightly when I took the camera out on Friday and assumed they were tight when I put the housing into the bath

There was around 1in of water in the dome port but fortunately it wasn't on the TTL circuit board.

I immediately dried it out as best I could and then left it in the airing cupboard overnight to dry out.

This morning I looked it over and it appears the main TTL circuit board is intact but the hotshoe adaptor has some corrosion on it and when I connect it to the stroebs, they don't fire.

I have spoken to Hugyfot in Belgium asking for a next day UPS/DHL shipping of the complete TTL system but they don't have the board in stock, only the hotshoe adaptor which they are going to send across.

Now, hopefully, the new hotshoe adaptor will solve the problem but if it doesn't I am going to be looking to meet someone with a Hugyfot housing to do some deals.

Therefore, does anyone know of anyone who uses a Hugyfot D200 housing who won't be using it for the next 2 weeks while I go to Narvik

Regards

Gareth, speak to Kevin at KMR, he's just turned my Hugy around in a week (added a new Nik V connector) kevin@aquafot.com Steve at Ocean optics has his number (sorry I don't have it with me)

Failing that I've had a local camera repair guy clean up my adapter so it was working again.

Thanks Tazzie. I have just spoken to a shop in the Netherlands who should be able to get
the whole set of electronics to me before the weekend, I can then clean up the others in slow time and it would always be good to have a spare set!!

I am going to call the Dutch guy back in an hour and see what he says, if that fails I will try your suggestions. What is KMR by the way?

Regards

Kevin is www.aquaphot.com. He is a chap that services and repairs cameras and underwater housings. I use him for all of my stuff. If there is a hurry then he will turn things around same day.

Thanks Tazzie and DDT, I have spoken to Kevin who will sort something out for me. As I shot manual strobes it should be a fairly quick fix and he will get the housing back to me Friday.

Regards
